Commercial Electrician Apprentices typically work in large facilities, construction sites, and on equipment such as lighting systems, power distribution, cables, switchgear, etc. They work under the direct supervision of a Journeyman Electrician as a trainee and assistant to gain knowledge and hands-on experience. It takes approximately 4 years (8,000 hours) to be eligible to take the Oklahoma Unlimited Electrical Journeyman exam and, upon passing, obtain an Unlimited Journeyman License.
