**Apprentice – R&D Fabrication Technician**
**Shift:** 1st shift, Monday – Friday; OT required throughout work week – no weekend shifts

**Description** :
**Fabrication Weld Technician Responsibilities:**
Participate in automotive car body prototype development
Assemble and measure weld fixture
Prepare standard operation procedure
Fabricate and modify car body and components from design data with various fabrication tools
Examine and ensure completed work pieces meet design and test specs
Participate in meetings, projects and activities in support of company and team goals
Accurately and timely accomplishment of work assigned
Maintain proficiency in core competencies and ability to learn new skills
Maintain equipment and keep a clean and safe work area
**Requirements** :
High School Diploma or GED
Experience with MIG and TIG welding required
Experience utilizing basic power tool and hand tool required.
Experience with fabrication equipment i.e. breaks, shears, and other metal forming tools preferred
Ability to read blueprints, layout specs, and Bill of Materials (BOM) to determine material requirements and task sequences
Ability to use calipers, tape measures, and other standard measuring equipment.
Physical ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
CAD experience preferred but not required
Basic computer skills i.e. Microsoft Office
Basic math skills and ability to interpret the metric system
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Positive manner of performance, team player, proficient written and verbal communications skills

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $24.00/hr.
