Job DescriptionJob Description Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Technician Are you a commercial HVAC technician looking to take your career to the next level in building automation? Key Responsibilities: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot building automation systems (BAS) and associated devices. Independently manage BAS service calls, demonstrating excellent problem-solving and customer service abilities. Calibrate building automation controls to ensure accuracy and dependability. Assist in developing and maintaining control sequences of operation (SOO) and related documentation. Contribute to the development of BAS control programs. Install, program, and maintain BAS systems. Design and manage graphic user interfaces (GUIs) using frontend software. Conduct preventive maintenance, including system backups and error assessments. Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. 3-5 years of experience as a control’s technician or in a comparable role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics. Familiarity with direct digital control (DDC) systems such as Niagara N4, JCI, Trane, Honeywell, or Distech. Qualifications: Associate degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC maintenance, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent field experience. 5+ years of experience in a control’s technician or similar role. Certification from an accredited trade school or apprenticeship program. Comprehensive knowledge of building automation systems. Niagara N4 certification.
