JOB DESCRIPTION – CNC / Water Jet Machine Operator: Responsible for operating machine tools to produce precision metal parts. Ability to prototype, produce small batches or large quantities of metal parts. Ensure products meet precise specifications. Responsibilities : The CNC/Water Jet Machine Operator operates CNC/Water Jet cutting machines to process and produce high quality precision parts. • Operate and load material into the computerized Machining and Water Jet machines. • Cut and prepare material for production and verify production during every process run. • Unload materials from the machine and prepare equipment for next process. • Inspect parts for quality and defects and escalate for corrective action if needed. • Manage and maintain all quality process documentation. • Follow procedures and provide suggestions to improve efficiency, productivity, safety and communications in work area. • Ensure daily cleanliness of work station and maintain a safe and productive work area by minimizing hazards and preventing accidents. • Meet quality and production targets and assist with other job duties as assigned. Skills/Requirements : Solid knowledge of basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, etc. is required. • Demonstrated aptitude for learning and ability to apply knowledge on the job. • Good knowledge of Excel and computer reporting tools. • Able to withstand prolonged standing and lift up to 80 lbs. of weight on a frequent basis. • Punctual, reliable and conscientious with strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Proven success in meeting performance goals and metrics on a regular basis. • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a team. • Excellent time management, organization and planning skills with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. • Good work ethic with proven ability to prioritize, multitask and adapt to changing priorities with a positive “can do” attitude. • Flexible to work extended hours and a variety of work assignments to meet customer commitments and deadlines. • Entrepreneurial spirit with an appreciation for creating something from nothing.
