Carteret Community College is accepting applications for a Coordinator for our Carteret Works Apprenticeship Program.  Funding for this full-time position has been made available through a new multi-year grant from the Golden Leaf Foundation. 

The primary purpose of this position is to administer Carteret Community College’s Carteret Works Apprenticeship program and act as the liaison between the Carteret County Public Schools and local employers in Carteret County.

Budgeted Salary Range:  $43,249 to $54,061.

Duties include:

Coordinate efforts to place students in registered pre-apprenticeships and apprenticeships with career pathway instruction. 
Develop, organize, report, and monitor all aspects of pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs carried out by the college and K -12 public education partners and report outcomes to ApprenticeshipNC and the Golden Leaf Foundation. 
Provide program oversight, advising, registering and monitoring all students in the programs. 
Develop, facilitate and present bi-monthly reports to the Carteret Works Advisory Committee. 
Work directly with the K-12 CTE Directors to develop and monitor pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs. 
Collaborate with the NCCCS ApprenticeshipNC to attend state meetings and work with NCCCS leadership on reporting and monitoring apprenticeships. 
Develop effective professional relationships with all students and parents to guide students to success by coordinating and overseeing support services between the business and industry, the community college, the K-12 partners, and their families. 
Monitor and provide oversight for all K -12 and community college students through the successful completion of third-party credentials. 
Work with K-12 and community college instructors to effectively align high school and college coursework to business and industry needs and program completion. 
Travel locally, regionally, and statewide to maintain business and industry partnerships and to effectively manage all aspects of pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs. 
Maintain and provide oversight of the annual budget associated with all pre-apprenticeships and apprenticeships.
Serve on College committees and task forces as assigned.
Attend required campus events including graduation, professional development, & employee meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Workforce Development,  Business Administration (HR or Organizational Leadership), or Career and Technical Education (CTE) or equivalent education or experience.    Master’s degree preferred, but not required.
Knowledge and Skills:

3 years of administrative experience (preferred, 5 years) in the management of recruiting, retaining and managing students in career related programs or liaison with business and industry to assess and plan for training needs or on-the-job-training.  
Knowledgeable of secondary and post-secondary education and training, including high school to college pathways. 
Ability to facilitate and coordinate individual, small group, and large group meetings with minimal assistance: business meetings, advisory meetings, and student/parent meetings. Ability to balance responsibilities between school districts, multiple high schools, the community college, and business/industry partners. Skilled in developing relationships and partnerships with multiple stakeholder groups.
Self-motivated and has strong personal and professional integrity. 
Effective verbal and written communication skills. 
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite or similar products.
Proficiency using database systems and computer software applications associated with the position. 
Ability to work effectively as a team and with a diverse clientele of students, parents, adults, and stakeholders. 
Preferred Certifications:
One or more of the following:  Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or PHR (Professional in Human Resources), Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), ACT WorkKeys Job Profiling Certification, or ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC).
