We are currently hiring experienced granite and solid surface countertop installers to assist our talented install teams. Our installer shift is Mon-Friday 6:30 AM a.m. until the work is completed. Some weekend work available on occasion. Only the desire to learn and work hard is expected, some construction experience is helpful but no experience is required for this apprentice position. GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB Countertops/Surfaces: Responsible for assisting with the professional installation of countertops to TPIs residential, commercial and developer job sites. Assists Lead Installers with all phases f the job. Takes care to notice the appropriate way to help the Lead set up, focuses on obtaining and eye for detail and professional knowledge and skilled techniques with every installation. Customer Service Focused Utilizes company software in the field to document and record all information and photographs relevant to the installation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Professionally Assist in the Installation of custom fabricated countertop and surfaces to a variety of customers, in a variety of locations with a variety of applications Ability to gain Knowledge of Solid Surface, Natural Stone & Manufactured Stone Installation techniques. Work Closely with your Lead to create the best experience for the customer. Work and communicate with office & shop personnel. Customer Service Focused : Work and communicate with the customer regarding the installation process. QC jobs and document the craftsmanship and customer service feedback from the customer via our AF Software and other divisional paperwork requirements Utilize AF in the field to document and save all information relevant to the Installation appointment Lead Installer SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Your Lead Installer will supervise his assigned installation helper and provide training and guidance. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Masons Union – May become eligible for sponsorship in Local #1 apprentice program after 6 Month probationary period)and enrollment, while on the job. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Must be able to read a tape measure. Must be able to read architecture plans. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Install Helpers must have a valid HI driver’s license.. All employees are subject to random drug screening. Ability to pass Government background Screening for Job Badging PHYSICAL DEMANDS The position will require the following physical activities on a regular basis; Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and handling. The maximum amount of weight required to be lifted will be less than 200 pounds all carrying will be done with the Lead Installer. There are no special vision requirements. WORK ENVIRONMENT Residential, Commercial, High Rise and other community types. Sometimes you will be Indoors in a temperature-controlled environment and outdoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment. Parking may be difficult at times. There may be HOA or community noise and rubbish guidelines that need to be adhered to.
