E&E Construction is seeking an experienced Directional Driller Operator to join our team in
major Texas cities, including Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin. The ideal candidate will
excel in operating Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) equipment to install underground
telecommunications infrastructure. This position requires technical proficiency, adherence to
safety protocols, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
Responsibilities

Operate and maintain directional drilling equipment for telecommunications
infrastructure installations.

Read and interpret blueprints, utility maps, and project specifications to plan and execute
drilling operations.

Drill accurately and install conduits, cables, or pipes for fiber optics and other telecom
systems.

Conduct pre-job site inspections to evaluate soil conditions, identify potential hazards, and locate underground utilities.

Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and ground crews to ensure proper
alignment and depth during drilling operations.

Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance to minimize downtime.

Comply with all safety protocols, industry standards, and environmental regulations.

Document daily activities, including progress updates, challenges, and any deviations
from the project plan.

Collaborate with team members to resolve unforeseen challenges during operations.
Skills

Expertise in navigating various soil types, including rock and clay.

Familiarity with locating systems and utility detection equipment.
Qualifications
Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of directional drilling experience, preferably in the
telecommunications sector.

Equipment Knowledge: Proficiency in operating HDD rigs, such as Ditch Witch,
Vermeer, or equivalent models.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Capacity to lift heavy equipment and perform manual labor as needed.

Strong understanding of safety standards, including underground utility practices and
regulations.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a
team.
