An Electrician Apprentice shall assist electricians to safely install electrical equipment and systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, current electrical and building codes, and adhere to industry standards.
·       Understand and always follow company and job site safety policies and procedures.
·       Learn to safely use hand and power tools, ladders, and construction equipment.
·       Learn to confidently read and interrupt blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.
·       Install and mount electrical controls, devices, panels, sensors, and components.
·       Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using multimeters and testing devices.
·       Assist in diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatuses, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

Responsibilities

·       Must have reliable transportation to the office or job site each day.
·       Must be able to pass pre-employment, random and post-accident drug tests.
·       Must be able to pass background check for government contracts.
·       Must be able to work for long periods (hours) without texting or being on personal cell phone
·       Work continuously at smoke-free facilities such as hospitals and government facilities

Skills

Mechanically inclined, technical aptitude, problem solver, likes math and science, works with tools, understand and follow safety rules, plan ahead, fast learner, construction knowledge, team player.

Qualifications

Past construction or marine experience preferred. Must have own hand tools. Must have transportation to and from job sites. Must be willing to attend four-year adult education electrical trade school 2 nights per week after work shift.

Security Clearance Requirements

Must pass background check to get on government facilities.

Eligibility to Work Requirements

Must be minimum of 18-Years Old, have valid drivers license and pass background check.

Required Documentation

Current Drivers License record. Past trade or vocational school transcripts to be credited toward apprentice school classes.
