The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, medical documentation, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in pediatrics and endodontics is a plus. Responsibilities : Clinical Responsibilities: Place, condense, and finish amalgam and composite restorations in accordance with Indiana law. Operate and maintain X-ray equipment in compliance with radiation safety standards. Prepare treatment rooms by following prescribed procedures and infection control protocols. Assist dentists by providing instruments, suctioning, and passing materials. Select, mix, and place dental materials. Take diagnostic impressions, pour and trim models, and prepare study casts. Fabricate temporary restorations and clean/polish removable appliances. Manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency preparedness. Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and plaque control. Maintain detailed and accurate patient records. Compliance & Safety Responsibilities: Adhere to HIPAA regulations, ensuring patient confidentiality and data protection. Follow all infection control protocols, sterilization processes, and safety procedures. Maintain and troubleshoot dental equipment, coordinating repairs when necessary. Manage dental supply inventory and ensure availability of necessary materials. Professional Development and Team Collaboration: Stay updated on industry best practices through continuing education. Requirements Completion of an ADA-accredited dental assisting program or equivalent on-the-job training. Minimum of one year of related dental assisting experience preferred. Licenses and Certifications: Active Indiana Dental Radiographer License. Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification preferred. Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification required.
