Position Overview: We are more interested in finding the right applicant and are less focused on filling a specific position. If we are confident in you as an applicant, we are confident we can collectively work to help all of us thrive! Whether you are joining the team as an arborist apprentice, experienced groundsperson, or stud climbing arborist, you can rest easy knowing you will be delivering expert tree care. What You’ll Do as a Groundsperson: Drive large trucks and trailers. Safely operate equipment such as chippers, mini-skid loaders, skid loaders, and stump grinders. Safely operate handheld power equipment such as chainsaws, power pole saws, hedge trimmers, and blowers. Assist climber in roping/rigging operations. Assist or independently perform pruning tasks. Assist or independently perform felling operations. Process, transport, and chip tree material (usually with machine assistance!). Assist team in thorough clean up. Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and more. Be an indispensable teammate! Qualifications: Groundsperson Possession of a valid driver’s license (Class A or B CDL preferred) Good physical condition Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade, or willingness to learn. Willingness to obtain Class A CDL Strong communication and people listening skills. What You’ll Do as an Arborist Apprentice: As an Arborist Apprentice, you will learn and perform all the roles lister under groundsperson, but you will also embark on the exciting path towards ISA Certification. Learn how to safely climb tree from industry experts. Learn how to perform all aspects of tree work, ranging from pruning, removals, cabling and bracing, and plant health care. Operate as a member of a tree crew while progressively learning new skills. Qualifications: Arborist Apprentice Possession of a valid driver’s license Good physical condition Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade, or willingness to learn. Willingness to obtain Class A CDL Strong communication and people listening skills. What You’ll Do as a Climbing Arborist: Perform all the roles listed under groundsperson. Demonstrate technical proficiency as a production climber. Applicants seeking employment as a climbing arborist at Rooted Arbor Care will have to perform a test climb demonstrating technical proficiency prior to hiring. Qualifications: Climbing Arborist Possession of a valid driver’s license, Class A or B preferred. Good physical condition Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade. Willingness to obtain Class A CDL ISA Certified Arborist, or the ability to obtain the certification within 12 months. Minimum of three years of tree work experience. Minimum two years of climbing experience. Proficient in both MRS and SRS climbing technique. Strong understanding of rigging and felling techniques. Ability to use an aerial lift. Crane removal experience is a plus. Strong communication and people listening skills.
