un ⚐ ⚑ ⚑ Hoe Pack Operator Position Available (Boise) Civil Werx ‹ image 1 of 2 › compensation: $23+ / hour employment type: experience level: entry level job title: Hoe Pack Operator A Level I Operator is an entry level position to operate heavy construction equipment such as labor, operating water trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, etc. The expectation is for Level I Operators to have a willingness to learn and grow through on-the-job training and/or the ABC Heavy Equipment Operators Apprenticeship Program. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Core Competencies: – Operating Heavy Equipment – Planning and Organization skills – Communication – Teamwork – • Duties: – Safely and efficiently operating equipment and any other equipment related to the assignment – Perform operational and safety check of equipment prior to use – Maneuver heavy equipment into loading/unloading positions, understanding and following commands from the crew as needed and ensure positioning is correct – Identify and report and document unsafe conditions, injuries/accidents, and necessary repairs in a timely manner in order to promote correction to allow continuation of work – Operate a variety of units including gasoline and diesel-powered units – Constant effort to improve skills required to operate heavy equipment – Keep detailed and accurate timecards, equipment sheets, and logs of working hours and vehicle use – Communicate effectively with foreman and co-workers both verbally and in written form – Manual labor, such as digging, scooping, lifting and pushing throughout the shift as required QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS – OSHA 10 – Equivalent to high school diploma – Enrollment in the Heavy Equipment Apprenticeship Program – Must possess a valid Nevada driver license – High level of integrity and a strong work ethic – Confident, consistent, and decisive personality – Can work with supervision – High flexibility with solid interpersonal skills that allows effective work within a diverse and unpredictable environment – Adjustment/preventive maintenance, and storage of equipment and a variety of trucks and other related equipment – Operation of equipment such as front-end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, etc. – Knowledge of traffic laws and ordinances related to equipment use in the area of work PREFERRED SKILLS – Ensure safe work procedures are observed at all times – Enrolling in the ABC Heavy Equipment Apprenticeship Program – Operating a variety of construction equipment and trucks properly and safely – Ability to perform minor maintenance and adjustments to assigned equipment – Recognize potentially hazardous situations related to an assignment and taking appropriate action – Accurate record keeping – Contribute effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities – Establish effective and trusting working relationships with those involved in the work ADDITIONAL NOTES • Work Conditions: – Physical ability to lift up to 100 lb – Hazards associated with the trade – Exposure to construction sites – Safety equipment will be required such as steel-toed safety boots – Work both indoors and outdoors – Will be required to work in extreme weather conditions – Overtime as required Principals only.
