You can join this mission in the role of a full-time Kennel Tech/Apprentice Dog Trainer. Hours will likely be 7 – 4 Monday through Thursday and 1-9 on Sunday, however, schedule may adapt, and if you are interested in part-time, hours will be determined. Professional Dog Training Experience not required, but previous experience working in a dog-handling environment, and working with dogs of a variety of temperaments is required. Dog-handling can be very physical, so you must have the capability to handle large, strong dogs. We are looking for a motivated and people-oriented person to help with the daily care and training of dogs and attention to detail on facility maintenance. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to undertake a variety of responsibilities, working with all types of dogs and clients. Pay rate is $13-16, depending on experience. Duties and Responsibilities: Successful completion of the Sit Means Sit training program is required for all trainers Adhere to company methods, curriculums, and training philosophy Facility maintenance as assigned, and according to company standards Work alongside other dog trainers to achieve training goals that were set by the company and the client Working with the dogs-in-training for multiple sessions per day Follow all policies and procedures Work with trainers and provide assistance and training as needed Assist in other areas of facility as needed Multi-task between training dogs, documenting training sessions, facility maintenance, and interacting with clients Build strong, trusting relationships with new and existing clients Requirements: Available to work as early as 7:00 AM and/or as late as 9:00 PM, including weekends, based on schedule, which adapts as needed Experience with training of personal or client dogs is required Employment consistency and commitment preferred (no more than three jobs in the last five years) Must be willing to train and/or be temporarily assigned to any of the two San Antonio-area facilities, as needed The Ideal Dog Trainer Candidate will have the following skills: Strong customer service skills Be comfortable working with dogs with issues such as resource guarding, separation anxiety, fear-based behaviors, dog reactivity/aggression Capability of handling dogs of 100+ pounds Basic computer navigation skills and PC knowledge Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $13.00 – $16.00 per hour Benefits: Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Referral program Vision insurance Schedule: 10 hour shift 8 hour shift Weekends as needed Work Location: In person
