Location: Rogers, MN.
Shift: Monday – Thursday 5am – 3:30pm, Friday potential overtime 5am-11am
Pay: $22-26/hourly – Depending on experience and qualifications
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Machine Operator Apprentice to join our team of skilled metal fabricators. In this role, you will rotate between various machining positions depending on business needs, working with equipment such as the router table, shear, emmegi, and press brake machines. Your responsibilities will include machine setup, operation, and ensuring precise measurements while upholding safety and quality standards. Over time, you will develop proficiency in material alignment, tooling selection, and making necessary adjustments throughout the production process.
Essential Functions:
Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and sketches.
Layout parts (without drawings) and make modifications to programs for custom pieces.
Collaborate with team members to ensure quality, meet tolerances, and fulfill customer requirements.
Operate router table, emmegi, shear, or press brake machines, adjusting programming and setup as needed.
Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding questions or concerns.
Inspect finished products for accuracy and uniformity using tools such as micrometers, tape measures, gauges, templates, or rules to ensure conformance to specifications.
Perform routine maintenance on machines, including lubrication, cleaning, and tool replacement, to ensure machine longevity.
Follow all safety procedures, assess your actions, ensure the safety of others, and report any safety issues promptly.
Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience operating and laying out parts for machines such as router tables, emmegi, hydraulic shears, or AccurPress brakes, preferably in a custom metal fabrication setting.
A strong willingness to learn new machines and techniques, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Ability to read and interpret shop/fabrication drawings.
Energetic, dependable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
