Maintenance Technician
JOB SUMMARY:
He/she is responsible for ensuring that all Company manufacturing equipment and facilities are kept in good repair and working order. Works to improve machine up time and performs preventative maintenance tasks per schedules.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Complies with all Company safety, lockout/tagout, production, quality, and performance rules, procedures, and policies and follows all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding
2. Serves as electrician in repairing minor electrical malfunctions; performs machine repairs; and installs new equipment.
3. May work as a plumber in assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and sewer systems, and in opening clogged drains.
4. Acts as a carpenter in the alteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, scaffolding forms, wood fixtures, and furniture.
5. May operate hand and powered tools including, but not limited to, saws, drills, table saw, drill press, sanding machine, router, and electric drill.
6. Maintains tools and machinery in good condition and uses all tools carefully and as instructed.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. May perform minor repairs to air conditioning system as required and see to general maintenance of system.
2. Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Demonstrated ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations following supervisor’s instructions.
2. General knowledge of various types of equipment used in machining and sheet metal fabrication.
3. Ability to use a multimeter and read electrical schematics, ladder diagrams to diagnose and repair electrical systems and control circuits
4. Ability to work with little or no supervision, given proper instructions.
5. Ability to do heavy lifting, kneel, climb, and work at elevated heights.
6. Ability to follow instructions, given either orally or in writing.
7. Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, and air conditioning equipment.
8. Ability to read and write and to follow detailed written instructions.
Qualifications
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the field of general repairs, including at least one year’s experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair, and air conditioning; OR
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
