Rogers Group is currently seeking candidates to fill a MOBILE MILLWRIGHT CREW APPRENTICE position based out of our Gordonsville shop. This is an entry level position that will primarily focus on prepping and painting fabricated equipment. Work will primarily be focused on the Gordonsville shop but may require occasional travel to serve nearby areas within a ±3 hour window. Occasionally, travel to sites outside of Tennessee will be required. Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate must have mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand, apply, and reason about mechanical concepts, principles, and processes, including the operation of tools and machinery, and the basic principles of physics that govern them. Training, direction, and guidance will be provided to develop skills as a painter and fabricator. In addition to painting responsibilities, candidate will learn to operate equipment to load/unload steel, materials, and finished equipment utilizing telehandler forklift and shop forklift. Candidate will aid in prepping materials to be used in fabrication by cutting, torching, and drilling holes. Candidate will be trained to utilize welding equipment. Hours of operation require ability to be flexible and will require some night and weekend work as well. Occasional extended travel/stays will be required; per diem to be provided. Overtime is required as needed. Ability to acquire DOT medical card preferred to operate CDL trucks and equipment while performing delivery/maintenance duties. Self-motivated individual – must be able to perform required duties independently, with minimum supervision while demonstrating sound judgement. Must be flexible on working hours and locations with the ability to adapt to different work environments. Must be flexible to occasionally travel outside state to other sites for extended stays (3-4 wks.) Must have a valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.
