Pile drivers drive steel, concrete, or wood piling into the earth during the early stages of construction used to set up the foundation of skyscrapers, highways, and bridges; and to build docks, wharfs and seawalls. During your apprenticeship the skills required to be a productive pile driver will be taught to you with hands-on and in the classroom training. It is a very physical job with lots of lifting, pulling and bending but you are trained in how to do these tasks safely before ever attempting them on the jobsite.
