Precision Machinist-APPRENTICE 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars 3414 Hwy 51 South, Hernando, MS 38632 Job Summary Tegra Medical is seeking a Precision Machinist Apprentice to join our Hernando, MS facility. The Precision Machinist Apprentice will be fully engaged in an intense State Approved training curriculum designed to develop the next Tegra Medical Precision Machinist. Training will consist of 6000 hours of firsthand and online /classroom training. Due to the significant investment by Tegra and the selected individual, a letter of understanding will be drawn up and signed by both parties. Role and Responsibilities: Setup / operate machines, achieving specifications including quality and throughput. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Perform ERP system transactions. Monitor process and specifications, and address issues as needed. Work from standard operating procedures, work instructions and prescribed operation sequences to achieve parts per print and quality specifications. Perform own part inspection during machining processes to measure work piece to check to match specs, using measuring instruments such as microscope, optical comparator, micrometer, caliper, dial indicators and gauges. Simultaneous to machining operations, perform a variety of secondary operations as required ex: clean and deburr parts, cleaning work areas and assisting others within department. Machine materials other than metal, such as composites, plastic, and rubber. Qualifications and Education Requirements: H.S. Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a vocational school in manufacturing/machining or engineering discipline is a plus. Ability to work with small diameter parts requiring tight tolerances and high-quality finishes is a plus. Ability to read blueprints/drawings and follow work instructions is a plus. Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment as a CNC Machinist is a plus. Hours of Work: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM must be flexible based on training availability. Hourly Rate: As defined by apprenticeship program syllabus/outline with six-month performance assessments required. As stated above due to the significant investment by Tegra Medical and the selected individual, a letter of understanding will be drawn up and signed by both parties. A two-year employment commitment to Tegra Medical after program completion is expected.
