PRODUCTION APPRENTICE – ASSEMBLY 5:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Mon – Thurs Wage Range $20.00 – $23.23/hr DOE SUMMARY: Assembles individual parts into more complex assemblies to match the master or SOP. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Review master, SOP, bill of material, job traveler and any supporting paperwork; Check parts for quality and prepare them for assembly; Follow SOP and master where available; Drill, sand, paint, glue, and complete other related tasks; Trim and patch parts as needed; Perform precision grinding work; Operate robotic work cell to support assembly tasks; Use calculator and scale to ratio and weigh out material; Count parts accurately and document as required; Meet established productivity levels, quality standards, and deadlines; Participate in continuous improvement effort; Maintain orderly and clean work station; Complete daily log documenting work completed and any issues that affected cost, quality, delivery or safety; Use computers to access and input information; Cross train and work in all assembly areas; Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required; Follow appropriate safety precautions; Assist others as directed by Production Supervisor; Assist Production Supervisor as directed; Perform other duties as required. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ability to use hands to grasp individual parts throughout shift; Ability to use hands to grasp and operate hand tools throughout shift; Ability to use hands to lift, hold and move or carry product and/or bins up to 30 lbs.; Ability to sit and/or stand for most or all of shift, excluding breaks and lunch; Ability to handle sharp instruments safely; Ability to work with thermoset and thermoplastic molded products; Ability to work with adhesives; Ability to use equipment such as knives, drills, sanders, band saws, cutters, grinders; Ability to use Metric and English measurement systems with a ruler, tape measure or calipers; Ability to use basic math skills and a calculator; Ability to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; Ability to push, pull, pry, bend, squat and reach; Ability to attend to detail; Ability to see close up, peripherally, and have depth perception; Ability to meet and maintain productivity levels; Ability to meet deadlines; Ability to meet quality standards; Ability to follow verbal, video and written procedures and instructions; Ability to perform repetitive routine production procedures; Ability to perform all job duties accurately; Ability to maintain an organized, clean work area; Ability to understand and use different types of basic computers and touch screens Principals only.
