Summary
Sandblasting Apprentice Atlanta Blasting Professionals Inc. Marietta, GA 30067 SANDBLASTING APPRENTICE We are seeking candidates of interest for the position of General Laborer/Sandblasting Apprentice due to the rapid growth of our business. This is a part-time position with unpredictable and variable hours based on business demand. YOUR ROLE – What to expect: Assisting the GM in all aspects of performing the sand blasting work including but not limited to the following activities: ● Strip and prepare various surfaces (brick, metal, stone, cement etc.) to near original surface conditions typically for re-painting purposes. ● Responsible for helping for pre-blasting surface – primarily masking surrounding surface areas that need to be protected from blasting. ● Operate the DB 500 S Mobile Blaster per job specifications, surface type and job site conditions. ● Support the Master Blaster but refilling the blast pot with 200 lbs of crushed glass a minimum of once every hour. ● Cleaning and maintenance of all PPE and safety materials required to perform the job. ● Conduct and carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on blasting equipment. ● Monitor and maintain blasting machine parameters including PSI, abrasive volumes, moisture control and compressor monitoring. ● Undertaking and completing assigned tasks with minimal supervision and in compliance with OSHA health and safety regulations ● Responsible for set-up, clean-up, and associated tasks required to complete the work. ● Operate tools required to perform the work including; Leaf Blower, Pressure Washer, Shop Vac, Broom, Shovel, Rake etc. ● Variable work schedule (typically not working weekends but willingness to work an occasional Saturday at a premium hourly wage). YOUR SKILLS To be a perfect fit for this role you will: ● Have industrial paint knowledge with metals (preferred, not essential). ● Experience working in a manufacturing environment required, sandblasting and/or spray painting experience (preferred, not essential). ● Must be able to tape and mask off sensitive areas. ● Ability to work both in an unsupervised and also in a team environment.
