Summary
Shop Hand / Woodworker Apprentice Dutchess Millwork 2559 Route 44, Salt Point, NY 12578 We’re a custom Millwork shop that just celebrated our 48 years anniversary and are looking for a highly skilled woodworker who wants to get an extraordinary amount of responsibility and autonomy in order to help take the business to a new level. Our focus is on high-end residential and historical restorations woodworking. We’ve worked on some of the most iconic houses and historical buildings in the Hudson Valley, NYC, and even around the US. We’re known for high end custom doors, windows, but what really seperates us is our 2 CNC lathes that allow us to produce beautiful wood turnings like balusters, newels, and columns. We’re looking for someone to help prepare wood, use table saws, sander, and who has highly organized and passionate about woodworking. We’re looking to give someone an outsized amount of responsibility, the ability to move up quickly, and are willing to help relocate the right candidate to the area. Responsibilities: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, smooth workflow and efficient production. Help prepare wood for master craftsman on the team by using heavy duty equipment. Learn and be trained for more advanced woodworking over time, implementing and refining woodworking techniques, utilizing various tools and machinery to achieve exceptional craftsmanship. Help ensure the shop is organized and clean to maximize efficiency and safety. Requirements: Passion for building and some experience – even as a hobbyist – with woodworking Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work Good communication and interpersonal skills Quick learner and excited to take direction and receive feedback Problem-solving skills and adaptability to address challenges If you are a passionate and experienced woodworker ready to take on a key role in a successful woodworking company, we would love to hear from you.
