Part-Time Teacher Assistant (PTTA) – Head Start Program

About Us: Southwestern Community Services (SCS) Head Start is a federally funded early childhood education program with five NAEYC-accredited centers. We are dedicated to promoting school readiness and providing comprehensive early childhood services to children from income-eligible families.

Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Teacher Assistant (PTTA) to join our team. Under the direction of the Teacher, the PTTA will ensure the safety of all children and create a warm, caring, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. This role supports the Teacher and Full-Time Teacher Assistant in implementing the Creative Curriculum in accordance with NH State Child Care Licensing Rules, Head Start Performance Standards, and NAEYC Accreditation Standards.

  • Assist in implementing the Creative Curriculum.

  • Collaborate with the Teacher and Full-Time Teacher Assistant.

  • Adhere to NH State Child Care Licensing Rules, Head Start Performance Standards, and NAEYC Accreditation Standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Requirements: 3 ECE credits (including child growth and development) and enrollment in an ECE program.

  • Preferred Requirements: Associate degree in ECE or a related field with 12 credits in Early Childhood Education.

  • Must pass fingerprinting and criminal record check before hire.

  • Classroom experience with preschool children (Head Start experience preferred).

Position Details:

  • Part-Time, school year schedule (mid-August to mid-June).

  • Summers off.
