Tool and Die Maker 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars York, PA 17402 Tempstar Staffing is hiring for a 1st shift Tool & Die Maker for a client of ours in the East York, PA area. Hours will be Monday – Friday, 7am – 330pm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and maintaining precision tools and dies used in the production process. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, CAD software, and the ability to work with various materials including plastics. The Tool and Die Maker will play a crucial role in ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. Duties: Fabricate, repair and assemble dies and/or machine tools into sub-units or complete units. Manufacture tooling to print tolerances. Utilize quality assurance practices and metrology equipment to ensure that tooling conforms to applicable design specifications. Fit tooling and perform alignment check on die to ensure design specifications and correct alignment of cutting stations. Set-up die in press and produce an acceptable first piece sample to customer print. Record and store die tooling in an efficient manner as they are fabricated. Consult manager if any tooling may need to be modified from print and record modification. Utilize good housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe work area. Minimum Requirements: · High school diploma or equivalent. · Must have completed an apprenticeship or have at least 5 years of experience in the field. · Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. · Ability to perform basic math functions using whole numbers, fractions and decimals including metric /English conversion. A basic understanding of algebra and geometry. · Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, set-up, operating and maintenance instructions. · Knowledge of measuring equipment usage, such as micrometer, caliper and optical comparator. · Blue print reading with geometric tolerances. · Ability to read die assemblies, change-over and detail prints from various sources. · Capable of writing routine correspondence and reports. · Ability to solve practical and mechanical problems (Mechanical aptitude). · Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. · Must have the ability to successfully complete all training requirements as listed on training matrix for this position. · Must be available for scheduled work: normal work day of 8 hours or more as necessary, night shift and weekend work is possible.
