To see a list of all MTech’s great perks visit – https://mtechg.com/careers/benefits-wellness/ Job Summary The Trade Rotation Apprentice will be required to participate in the MTech trade rotation program through each of MTech’s represented trades: Sheet Metal, Plumbing and Pipefitting. Apprentices will perform entry level general trade duties as required with supervision, while transitioning between construction and special projects departments for the first four quarters of employment. At the end of the first year (signifying the completion of the rotation), the rotating apprentice will select their desired trade to purse (sheet metal, plumbing, or pipefitting) and continue to meet the requirements for that trade. Essential Job Functions APPRENTICE 1 (0-12 months) Develop good working and safety habits. Understands terminology and the use of power and hand tools. Required to obtain the mandatory tools for Level 1. Attends all MTech Mechanical Apprenticeship training classes regularly and outside schooling if available. Has basic math skills. Attentive to instructions and assists the journeyman in all phases of work. Can document approximately 2,000 hours of employment. Perform laborer tasks including sweeping, cleaning, delivering, loading and unloading, etc. Regular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet the requirements of this position Other duties as assigned APPRENTICE 2 (12-24 months) All Apprentice 1 responsibilities plus: Read non-complex blueprints and detail drawings. Required to obtain the mandatory tools for Level 2. Has an understanding of simple trade systems. Preparation of piping and fixtures before installing Help install equipment. Document approximately 4,000 hours of employment. Can identify and organize materials for tasks. Other duties as assigned APPRENTICE 3 (24-36 months) All Apprentice 1 & 2 responsibilities and: Understands and is able to read architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing plans and their details. Assist in lay-out for digging, core drilling, sleeving, etc. Check grade in trenches while digging, tunneling, etc. Can lay out and install small jobs with supervision. Required to obtain the mandatory tools for Level 3 Can document approximately 6,000 hours of employment. Other duties as assigned APPRENTICE 4 (36-48 months) All Apprentice 1, 2 and 3 responsibilities plus: Application for certification at local jurisdiction as required, ie. Denver. Know heating and cooling design and complete all jobs per MTech Mechanical standards. Required to obtain the mandatory tools for Level 4 Can complete all jobs successfully in terms of labor and material budgets. Have a good understanding of plumbing and mechanical systems and how they operate. Can document 8,000 hrs of employment. Support the total quality effort. Identify and respond to the needs of internal and external customers 100% of the time. Work within the guidelines of the safety and employee policy. Other duties as assigned.
