Apprentice program is geared toward high school students.Major Responsibilities:Observes and assists the department or unit to gain knowledge of roles within the healthcare environment to determine career path options while in high school.Maintains and orders stock for department or unit. Cleans equipment and work areas.Completes various errands as directed, including pick-up and delivery of trays, specimens, reports, etc.Performs general clerical functions as assigned.Develops academic and technical skills, and effective communication skills in areas of interest.Responsible for interacting with the community, Aurora employees, and patients.Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:None Required.Education Required:No Formal Education.Experience Required:No experience required.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:Must be enrolled in high school and working through a state or school sponsored apprenticeship or training program.Demonstrates basic academic skills.Applies critical thinking and information processing skills appropriately.Uses effective personal and interpersonal skills.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Must be able to sit, stand, and walk the majority of the day.Exposed to a normal office environment.Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.Occasionally lifts up to 20 lbs.This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent.
