Role Summary: 1 year apprenticeship training program: The Process Technician Apprentice position will develop the skills necessary to perform job duties through a combination of on-the-job training, related instruction, and safety training. This position will perform entry level technician duties such as setting-up molds, troubleshooting issues, correcting process and/or equipment problems at the press, inspecting parts for quality, and removing molds. The Process Technician Apprentice reports directly to the Shift Supervisor. Schedule 1st Shift: 6:40 am to 3:10 pm, Monday – Friday Areas of Accountability: Set molds into injection molding press. Set-up workstation and second operations equipment such as fixtures, tappers, etc. as required. Learn and perform the basic set-up of machine operating parameters to process parts to specifications using established procedures. Perform part inspects to ensure customer and company quality standards are met. Remove molds from the press and transport to proper location. Perform routine mold maintenance and safety checks on equipment. Complete and maintain appropriate documentation. Maintain a clean and organized work area with an emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization. Participate in and provide ideas for continuous improvement initiatives. Adhere to all quality and safety standards. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Strong mechanical aptitude. Desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment. Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Basic math skills. Basic computer skills. Preferred Qualifications: Two year degree in a manufacturing, science, math and/or related field. Previous injection molding and/or related experience in manufacturing is a plus.
