Job Summary: Field and Construction Apprentice are support staff and general labor for our aerial and underground services. The position of Construction Apprentice is a role that provides manual labor to construction and underground field service crews as well as support for facilities and warehouse. Pre-Employment Requirements: Employees will need to pass a pre-employment Criminal Background Check and Drug Screening. A valid driver’s license is required, and a Motor Vehicle Report will be performed. If lost or stolen, Management must be notified immediately. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  Must be able to work outdoors in all kinds of terrains and weather conditions during all times day and night.  Must be able to perform near power lines and electricity.  Must be able to be outdoors with all aspects of nature to include a variety of insects and plants.  Must be able to be exposed to dirt, dust, noise, cleaning solutions, and pets.  Must maintain below the maximum weight limitations of the equipment for safety.  Ability to carry, climb, operate, and work upon an extension ladder multiple times daily.  Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices.  Ability to differentiate between an array of sizes and colors of wiring.  Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner for which Customers can understand and find courteous and professional.  Must be able to lift 50-80 pound throughout the day.  Must be able to enter and work in confined spaces while bending, twisting, and reaching. Primary Duties:  Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.  Safety compliance and responsibility.  Vehicle compliance and responsibility.  Material handling.  General labor on construction sites.  Rodding and roping conduit.  Cable placement.  UG 101  Aerial 101  Setting Manholes, Vaults, and Pedestals.  Other responsibilities as assigned by management.  Placement of conduit as directed by Foreman or Supervisor.  Map reading and directions.  Support with trench digging and closing.  Support with movement of materials and vehicles as directed by Foreman or Supervisor.  Maintenance services as directed by Foreman to include cleanup, wash vehicles, landscaping.  Pneumatic Bore knowledge is a plus.
