Furniture Repair Apprentice 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars Humble, TX 77338 Position Summary The Furniture Repair Apprentice is an entry level position that will gain experience in performing the basic skills utilized to repair wood, fabric, leather, and cleaning repairs. Develop skills in case goods, fabric upholstery and leather upholstery restoration. Will learn how to repair and restore assembled furniture and upholstery in accordance with Living Spaces standards. Position Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Work with Service Technician to learn how to repair or restore product using proven techniques, including refinishing, re-upholstery, painting, etc. Learn how to maintain inventory and stock levels for all repair furniture kits/tools Learn how to repair upholstered products stitching, panel replacements mechanism/spring repair or replacements, frame repairs buttons, as well as other components Repair wood products, burn ins, color matching, panel replacement, adjustment of drawers, doors, glides as well as other components Perform daily tasks refurbishing furniture to 1st quality and the finishing of goods Learn to evaluate damages and select appropriate methods of repair and/or restoration for wood furniture, leather, fabric, and upholstery Assist with ordering replacement parts as needed Assist with set up and operating power tools such as drills, sanders, saw, and other tools required for repair Communicate any maintenance of tools, parts and hardware needed Ensure appropriate disposition of damaged product Learn to conduct operations in compliance with OSHA standards Maintains a clean free from debris warehouse floor Meet company standards for productivity Must be available to work a flexible schedule, weekends and holidays Qualifications Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum 1 year of experience working in a distribution or manufacturing environment. 1 year of experience in basic assembly, wood working, or product manufacturing. Basic knowledge of color blending or painting is preferred. Working knowledge of power tools and equipment necessary for repair work. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have experience in Microsoft Office programs. Certificates and Licenses: None Required Position Hiring Range The hiring pay range provides a guide for what we would reasonably pay for the position. Pay will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, relevant work experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Pay is determined by various factors including market demand, applicable skills, work experience and education, location, company budget, and in-demand skill sets. Compensation: $17.95 – $23.30 Retail, Guest Services, and Distribution Center Team Members are eligible to receive team bonus based on meeting specific goals and KPI’s.
