Moran Fire Protection to work on projects in the Quad Cities area. Apprenticeship Overview: Duration: 5-year program Training: On-the-Job Training (OTJ) in the field Online courses and book work In-person schooling (19 courses through a nationally recognized university) Starting Classification: Most apprentices begin as Class 1 Potential Advanced placement if you have experience in: Commercial construction Plumbing, HVAC, or electrical Military service in a related field Union determines starting class level based on experience and discretion Progress Review: Every 6 months, apprentice records are reviewed for: Satisfactory On-the-Job progress Satisfactory performance in related training courses Satisfactory progress leads to promotion to the next classification and a wage increase Credit for Experience: Opportunity to receive credit (and start at a higher level) based on: Completed college courses Military background Benefits: Full insurance coverage for the apprentice and eligible dependents Pension included through the union Qualifications: Education/Experience: Must be 18 years of age GED or Highschool Diploma required Construction experience is a plus but not required Skills: Basic construction knowledge Understanding and experience using hand tools Ability to travel to job sites local and abroad – valid driver’s license.
