Overview
We are currently seeking Electrical Apprentices to assist in all aspects of electrical construction. You will be mentored and developed to grow your career to new levels. Apprentices at Corbins have grown their careers into several areas of ouranization. Apprentices are our future, and we are looking for the best and brightest to join our team and develop a career in the electrical industry.
Career Path – Apprentice > Journeyman Electrician > Foreman > Superintendent or explore areas of Project Management, Estimating, and other Project Support Role.
Responsibilities
Assist electricians by performing tasks under their direct supervision
Execute a variety of electrical tasks by referencing maps, instructional manuals, specifications, field sketches, and blues
Remain up to date on Code requirements, hardware options, and industry best practices
Perform the basic tasks of material handling, jobsite housekeeping, and general labor
Ensure cleanliness of job-site toply with safe workplace regulations
Complete daily inspections and maintain record keeping
Assist with general site preparation and clean up
Qualifications
Ability to work independently andplete daily activities according to work schedule
General kledge of the construction process
Dependable with quick response to management direction
Professional verbal and writtenmunication skills
2+ years of electrical construction experience
HS Diploma or equivalent
Wear personal tool belt at all times on the jobsite
Able to lifting 50 pounds, unassisted, frequently throughout the day
Ability to climb up and down a ladder safely
Able topleting a full day’s assignments involving one or more of the following: bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching over head, and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
Able to dig trenches and excavations, either by use of hand tools or power equipment
Able to safely operate two-handed tools/equipment such as cable cutters, hammer drills,pression tools, and jack hammers
Access all levels of jobsite work area even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use
Able to work a 40 hour work week, with overtime and off-hour shifts as required
Good hearing and vision, normal or corrected
Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, indoor or outdoor, including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, and s depending on job location
Able to work from various heights via ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and other safe work platforms and areas
Able to work in and around restricted/confined spaces such as; manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, clean rooms, and raised metal floors
OSHA-10 Certification card preferred. Corbins will provide training for you to obtain this if you do not currently have it
