Under direct supervision of Lead Plumber, Apprentice will assist in the installation of plumbing in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. Installations will be up to code and Top Choice Plumbing quality standards. Reports to the assigned job site on time and ready to work.
Responsibilities
- Purchase required tools as listed for Plumbing and Gas Pipe Installation
- Arrive at job site or office at scheduled time and location as dispatched
- Operate company vehicle as needed
- Follow instructions from Supervisor and Lead Installer and carry out in timely manner
- Report problems with company tools or vehicle promptly
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times
- Review Housecall Pro at the start and end of each workday
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
- Unload truck supplies and equipment
- Participate in inventory control
- Attend and participate in employee meetings, trainings.
- Develop customer service, communication and team-work skills with Contractor Representatives, Supervisors, Co-Workers and other Sub-Contractors on job sites.
- Apprentices should possess good problem-solving and communication skills, pay attention to detail, and efficiently manage their time

Skills
- Ability to follow instructions and learn from experienced plumbers
- Physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects and working in tight spaces
- Good communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and supervisors
- Willingness to learn and grow in the plumbing profession, including attending training sessions and seeking additional certifications.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing tools, materials, and equipment
- Understanding of plumbing terminology and common plumbing systems
- Ability to assist journeyman plumbers with various tasks, including pipe installation, repairs, and maintenance
- Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a plumbing work environment
- Basic understanding of plumbing codes and regulations
- Proficiency in basic plumbing tasks such as cutting and fitting pipes, soldering, and sealing joints
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and clean MVR. Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be drug-free and able to pass random drug screenings.
- Demonstrate willingness to invest in tools used in the installation of Plumbing and Gas Piping.
- Demonstrate willingness to invest time training to advance position.
- Demonstrate commitment to developing customer service and communication skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions as given
- Ability to follow Safety Guidelines:
- Safely work with heights and in tight working conditions from extension and step ladders and lifts.
- Ability to operate power and hand tools safely.
- Ability to use safe lifting procedures
- Ability to use full range of body motion: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, bending and twisting.
- Digging and Trenching with a shovel.
