Cyclic General Maintenance Workers on the Camp Lejeune team come from areas of eastern NC including Jacksonville, Richlands, Swansboro and Morehead City. Primary responsibilities of the Cyclic General Maintenance Worker overall include performing general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs on buildings, equipment and machinery in various trades. The ideal Cyclic General Maintenance Worker has the practical skill and knowledge in various trades such as grounds work, painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, HVAC and electrical work
Salary
$23.47/ hr. plus $9.75 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities
Work involves a variety of the ing duties but is not all inclusive:
replace broken hardware in a barracks room, working on signage, replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets
Repair or replace defective equipment parts and reassemble equipment
Perform routine preventive maintenance
ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment
Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work
Order parts, supplies, and equipment
from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms
Perform general cleaning of buildings or properties
Perform other related duties as assigned
Essential Skills
Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments
Use hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges
Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in both rough and finished carpentry in COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL settings
applicable building and safety code requirements
methods and practices ed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment
Knowledge of building architectural/structural elements
including alterations and repairs
Adaptable and flexible in work situations
Establish priorities to ensure completion of tasks in a timely manner
PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies
Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
4+ years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in a variety of building and/or utility trades
Valid driver’s license
Valid DL complaint with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Regular, dependable attendance
OVERTIME- nights and weekends
U. S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
Preferred Qualifications
Formal apprenticeship
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces
Lifting and adjusting heavy objects, contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment.
Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions
