The Electrician’s Apprentice A-2 role is designed for individuals eager to expand their expertise in the electrical trade. This position involves the installation and repair of electrical systems, both underground and overhead, and provides a pathway to professional growth and development. Responsibilities Assist in the installation and repair of electrical systems, including underground and overhead systems. Perform excavation and operate mechanical tools, ensuring their proper care and maintenance. Handle materials and install them according to project specifications. Practice safe work procedures as outlined in the company policy manual. Maintain positive relationships with customers and team members. Operate and work from mechanical lifts under supervision. Qualifications Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the electrical field, including residential, commercial, or industrial installations. GED or high school diploma. Current Driver’s License. Ability to work out of town and utilize job site sanitary facilities. Capability to work from step ladders and extension ladders, with a weight limit of 300lbs including personal tools. Proficiency in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hardhats, safety glasses, and respirators when required. Physical ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and work overhead. Good vision, either natural or corrected. Knowledge and experience with various raceway installations, strapping methods, wire installations, and terminations. Demonstrated progress towards obtaining an electrical license through a state-approved apprenticeship program or higher education institutions.
