We specialize in restoring the original features of 100 year old homes like windows, doors, trim and architectural details. Our main focus is to preserve the original features and make them look and work like new. In some situations we can/will build new in order to match what was there. Roles and Responsibilitys Work well in small groups and individually. Communicate well with co workers and home owners. Follow instructions in order to complete daily task in a safe, timely and professional manner. Beable to think for themselves and problem solve. Work safely on ladders or scaffolding. Common daily task : Everyone will be expected to do the following task. As you grow in your career more technical projects will be presented based off of your interest and skill level. On the job training will be provided for all tasks no matter your experience level. Use basic hand tools on a daily basis. Scrape and sand old paint and wood surfaces. Apply primer, paints and stains. Minor wood repair. Glaze old windows. Follow cleaning procedures for a lead safe and clean work environment. More advanced project could involve: Stained glass repair Woodworking Constructing new wood windows, doors and millwork. Advanced finishing techniques. Project lead and management. Benefits: Health benefits are offered after 6 months of reliable and full time work. 1 week of PTO is offered after your first year, 2 weeks after your second year. Most individuals can make $25.00 per hour after their first year, attitude and commitment goes a long way! We typically work 40 hour work weeks M-Th. This is a full time position and we work to retain employees who are invested in the art of historic preservation. Some travel may be needed. You must have a valid drivers license.
