The Computer Programmer Instructor is responsible for instructing students on how to write computer algorithms, programs or systems, and programming languages. Their tasks may include the development of lesson plans and the delivery of information and lectures to the class. Also, they may work with students based on a one-on-one system. 
The salary is contingent on relevant experience.
The position incumbent will be required to work at various K-12 Coders locations where positions are available. 
Jobsites are not limited to DC, MD, MI, NC, TX and VA

Responsibilities

Program Development and Implementation:
• Provide students with the information necessary to achieve basic programming administration and
configuration skills.
• Tutor computer networking, HTML, CSS and basic php and javascript.
• Assist and educate students in different subjects and programming languages such as HTML5, CSS3,
JavaScript, PHP and MYSQL.
• Ensure students are completing online assignment submission in LMS.
• Work as a systems analyst, database manager, and a network specialist if needed.
• Follow course curriculums for mathematics and computer science, instruct programming and mathematics courses.
• Assist students install and configure all software/hardware and perform troubleshoot.
• Provide in-depth training sessions on HTML editing software.
• Investigate hardware problems report by students and perform troubleshooting of malfunctioning
equipment.
Program Operations and Management:
• Coordinate with Advancement staff on concept development ideals for potential students.
• Coordinate with Communications staff to develop and ensure accuracy of LMS
• Manage the work of the apprentices
• Provide oversight and direction for leaders in collaboration with affiliate K-12 Coders camp leaders/owners.

  • Demonstrated success managing, scaling, developing and evaluating program models, and operationalizing programs resulting in measurable success and program growth.
  • Experience initiating and piloting new program ideas.

  • Clear understanding and commitment to SW Design School L3C and K-12 Coders owners mission, goals, and objectives

Qualifications

  • Minimum BA/BS; Master’s degree preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of 2-5 years relevant experience in the STEM Education Industry.
  • Education or training in a STEM discipline with broad understanding across all areas of STEM education.
  • Journeyman Certification as Computer Programmer
