Job Description
Are you passionate about baking and eager to grow in a vibrant and supportive environment? Allie s Specialties is excited to announce the opening of our new Bakery Cafe in Hellertown, PA, and we are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Apprentice Baker to join our team. At Allie s, we are renowned for our internationally award-winning artisanal French baked goods and exceptional coffee, specialty teas, and other delightful beverages. As an Apprentice Baker, you will play a key role in upholding our high standards of quality, tradition, and customer service.
Responsibilities
Baking & Preparation: Prepare and bake a variety of items including bread, pastries, and desserts. Assist with finishing and decorating products as required.
Sanitation & Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all bakery areas, including cases, prep areas, floors, coolers, and workspaces. Perform routine equipment inspections and preventive maintenance.
Inventory & Stocking: Manage ingredient inventory and stock finished products as needed. Ensure all items are properly packaged and prepared for sale.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with barista staff and ordering/delivery teams to ensure seamless operations. Ad to safety policies and procedures at all times.
Professionalism: Present yourself in a professional and courteous manner. Follow uniform and dress code guidelines, maintaining a modest and professional appearance both on and off-site.
Qualifications
Experience: Prior experience in baking is required. Priormercial experience as a Baker or Pastry Chef is preferred. Prior knowledge of baking basics such as how to make pastry cream, ganache, handling of yeast and making of dough and other baking materials from scratch are a must. Willingness to learn quickly and adapt are key.
Skills: Strong ability to hear, speak, and understand instructions in English. Proficiency in reading, writing, and interpreting written material.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds. Capability to work with close and distant vision and maintain focus.
Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures, amounts, and percentages accurately.
