Through our data-driven tool, the S.I.L.A Prosperity Tracker , we aim to track and enhance community prosperity, provide actionable insights for policymakers and community leaders, and bridge the gap in community development. We are seeking passionate, detail-oriented Data Analyst Apprentices to join our growing team and make an impact while gaining valuable work experience. Position Overview : Say It Loud Advocates Research Network is offering a 12-month apprenticeship for three Data Analyst Apprentices . This position is designed for students who have at least 1 year of experience in data analysis and are interested in gaining hands-on experience in a social impact setting. As an apprentice, you will support the development, management, and optimization of the S.I.L.A Prosperity Tracker, contributing to data collection, analysis, and reporting for community-driven initiatives. Key Responsibilities : Assist in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets to track key community metrics related to economic mobility, poverty, and social equity. Conduct statistical analysis to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement in the Prosperity Tracker. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and subject matter experts, to ensure data integrity and project alignment. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators and other critical data. Support the implementation of data-driven initiatives and provide analytical support to ongoing projects. Perform data validation and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy and completeness of datasets. Help automate data pipelines and assist in the development of tools to streamline data reporting and analysis. Provide clear, actionable insights to assist in strategic decision-making and community development efforts. Qualifications : At least 1 year of experience in data analysis, whether through coursework, internships, or personal projects. Proficiency in Excel , Google Sheets , and other data analysis tools. Familiarity with statistical analysis software or programming languages (e.g., Python , R*, SQL*). Ability to clean and manipulate large datasets to extract useful information. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data insights in a clear and concise manner. Interest in social impact , community development, and data-driven solutions. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA (preferred but not required). Additional Skills (Preferred): Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) or spatial data analysis. Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau , Power BI , or similar platforms. Experience with data automation or ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. Apprenticeship Benefits : Earn college credit while gaining real-world data analysis experience.
