Supporting underserved communities through multiculturally affirming services, Allies in Caring is built on innovation and inclusion. We have immediate full time and part time positions for professionals of varying educational and experience backgrounds in the community and our Hammonton office. Positions available in Atlantic, Camden, Cape May, and Cumberland Counties.
Community Health Workers (CHW) are a critical and growing workforce committed to the health and well-being of their neighbors and addressing barriers to care head-on. CHWs act as intermediaries between the community and healthcare and social service systems to ensure that community members can access services that meet their needs.
Responsibilities
CHWs offer interpretation and translation services, provide culturally appropriate health education and information, help people get the care they need, give informal counseling and guidance on health behaviors, advocate for individual and community health needs, and provide some direct health services.
Skills
- Fluency in Spanish or ASL, preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills with individuals of all ages
- Comfortable providing services on site at an office and in the community
Qualifications
- Successful clearance of background check
- Valid NJ Driver’s license
