Optometric Technician The Woodland Eye Clinic of West Union 819 9th Street SE, Dyersville, IA 52040 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will assist optometrists in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong , anatomy, and physiology, along with excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages. Responsibilities Conduct preliminary eye exams and tests, including visual acuity assessments and ocular health screenings. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using electronic health record systems (We use Revolution EHR software) Ensure a clean and organized work environment Educate patients on proper eye care practices and post-examination instructions. Collaborate with the optometrist to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care. Assist with contact lens patients and teaching patients how to insert and remove contact lenses Support pediatric patients with a friendly approach, ensuring their comfort during examinations. Engage in retail sales by promoting optical products and services to enhance patient satisfaction. Experience Previous experience as an Optometric Technician or in a similar healthcare role is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye care is essential. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to ocular health is advantageous. Experience with medical records management systems, particularly Epic, is a plus. Strong sales skills or retail experience in an optical setting can enhance patient interactions. A background in pediatrics is beneficial for working with younger patients.
