Position: Technical Operator
Pay: $22 USD/hr
Job Summary
Assists Maintenance to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of the facility clean and in repair. Performs preventative maintenance on various types of production equipment, including but not limited to: horizontal/vertical wire cutters, wrappers, grinders, presses, etc. Assists Maintenance Technicians with changeovers, wire setting, Lock Out Tag Out, and other machine maintenance as needed. Assists production with trouble shooting during production runs.
Responsibilities
Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of the buildings does not deteriorate.
Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
Escalate issues to Leadership as appropriate
Comply with legal, environmental, and safety requirements of the area.
Know the environmental aspects of the area and its control.
Know the environmental impacts associated with your activities.
Follow all Environmental and Safety policies.
Comply with procedures, regulations, and instructions of environmental and safety programs.
Assists with Machine Operation as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Basic technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.)
Previous experience repairing machinery
Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
An eye for detail

High school diploma: Degree from a vocational school will be a plus
Minimum of 2 years employment experience in quality inspection/management position (preferably in a manufacturing environment).
Relevant supervisory experience may be substituted for the education requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager or Director of Quality.
Physical Demands
Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.
Position requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods of time during a normal work shift.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
Schedule
Monday through Thursday
7am – 3:30pm
Flexibility is a must – hours subject to change based on production schedule
