Specializing in collision repair, refurbishment, and refinishing, our technicians assess damage, perform structural and cosmetic repairs, and ensure vehicles meet manufacturer specifications. This position requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering top-quality workmanship in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform structural and cosmetic repairs on heavy-duty commercial trucks, including frame straightening, panel replacement, and refinishing. Diagnose and repair damaged frame or unibody parts properly using measuring and frame equipment to meet manufacturer specifications. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to remove, repair, or replace damaged components. Work with a variety of materials, including metals, plastics, glass, electrical systems, and mechanical components. Conduct thorough inspections to determine necessary repairs, ensuring all work aligns with safety and quality standards. Accurately document all repairs and communicate all additional findings with the service advisor. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and in good condition. Comply with all safety protocols, including OSHA regulations, hazardous waste disposal procedures, and manufacturer guidelines. Test drive vehicles when necessary to verify the quality and safety of repairs. Clearly communicate with the parts department to obtain necessary components for repairs. Participate in training programs, including OEM-sponsored courses and professional development opportunities, to stay current with industry advancements. Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentice technicians as needed. Ensure customer vehicles are returned in pre-loss condition with a focus on cleanliness and quality workmanship. Qualifications & Skills: Experience in collision repair, preferably with heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in welding, metalworking, and refinishing techniques. Ability to read and interpret repair orders, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality repairs. Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and independently as needed. Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs., with frequent standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, climbing, and other physical tasks required. Forklift operation experience is a plus but not required. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all regulatory guidelines. Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education in collision repair preferred but not required. Automotive or heavy equipment training is a plus. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
