Metro began in the late 1990s and is headquartered in Southlake, TX. We perform fire alarm, fire sprinkler, fire extinguisher, backflow, gate, garage, access control, CCTV and intrusion alarm services. Job Position Description: Metro is in search of an Apprentice Garage Door Service Technician. Experience with garage doors is not required but preferred. Experience and familiarity with hand tools is required. In this position, you will utilize your skills to install, troubleshoot, repair and service garage doors and garage door operators. Physical Setting and Schedule: Metro is located in Southlake, TX. Our schedule is Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM with a one-hour lunch. Responsibilities: Below are some job responsibilities the candidate will be in charge of. – Install and service of garage doors and garage door operators – Pick up orders from suppliers – Maintain a company vehicle in accordance with company policies – Manage the inventory on company vehicle in order to ensure all necessary parts for service calls are readily available – Complete a daily route sheet – Maintain a high level of customer service on all service calls – Manage time effectively in order to get through full days workload and provide feedback to manager of department regarding next day’s workload availability Qualifications: Below are some job qualifications we would like to see in potential candidates. – Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record – Must pass background and drug test – Basic to intermediate knowledge of hand tools – Personable and articulate – Good customer service skills – Effective in both verbal and written communication – Able to lift 75 lbs. – Strong attention to detail Compensation and Benefits: Below are details on job compensation and benefits. – Hourly rate will be dependent upon experience – Health, Dental and Vision insurance – Vacation and PTO (increases with tenure) – Paid Holidays – Eligible for Semi Annual Bonusesv Job Type: Full-time Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Work Location: In person
