We’re looking for a passionate, driven learner to fill the Machine Assembler apprenticeship position at Bruderer Machinery, Inc. Learn to build, repair, and troubleshoot high-speed stamping presses while earning competitive wages and college credit in this 2-year program. The Machine Assembly apprentice is a valuable team member who’s driven, open-minded, and passionate about machinery. Responsibilities

  • Cross-train on various aspects of machine assembly and rebuilding, including inspection, disassembly, cleaning parts, painting, repairing, and troubleshooting high-speed stamping presses
  • Perform repairs (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic)
  • Troubleshoot failure causes
  • Document technical design details
  • Equipment use and machine operation
  • Disassemble, assemble, install and commission machinery
  • Hoist/maneuver heavy components using lifting equipment
  • Use various test equipment to measure parts and machine condition
  • Safety and quality management
  • Represent company in a professional manner
  • Comply with OSHA and local safety procedure

Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • At least 16 years old
  • High school diploma, GED equivalency, or other high school equivalency credential
  • *Current student at Calhoun Community College, or plan to enroll for courses required in this apprenticeship program
  • Willing and able to work 30+ hours a week while taking the required Calhoun Community College courses part-time
  • Physically capable of performing essential functions of the apprenticeship program, with or without a reasonable accommodation, and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others.
 
*Exceptions apply for military veterans, AOA certified pre-apprenticeship training program graduates, and current employees by an employer with an Employer Acceptance Agreement.

Required Documentation

  • Diploma/GED, or proof of dual-enrollment status in high school
  • Official transcript(s) for high school and any post-high school education.
  • Direct entry for military veterans: If you qualify and meet the minimum eligibility requirements, you must submit a DD-214 to verify military training and/or experience in order to be considered.
  • Direct entry for graduates of AOA certified pre-apprenticeship training program: If you qualify and meet the minimum eligibility requirements, you must provide official documentation– skills assessments, completion/graduation certificates, transcripts, etc.– confirming that you fulfilled the specific requirements of the pre-apprenticeship program in order to be considered.
